Plan It Native 2025 is bigger and better than ever! We are offering two full days to learn about native plants, designing and managing native plant gardens, and the flora/fauna connections we all appreciate.
The conference opens on Tuesday, February 11 with keynote speaker Nancy Lawson, author of The Humane Gardener. On Wednesday afternoon, we feature Doug Ladd as our second keynote speaker.
In between, Plan It Native 2025 is offering more concurrent sessions, 21 in fact! Session topics include:
• Planting and maintaining green infrastructure projects,
• What wild plant populations can tell us about planted plants,
• Woody plants and pollinators,
• Shrubs and Small Trees in Landscape Design and Ecosystem Function

FEATURED SPEAKERS
NANCY LAWSON
Nancy Lawson is the author of The Humane Gardener and Wildscape: Trilling Chipmunks, Beckoning Blooms, Salty Butterflies, and other Sensory Wonders of Nature. Nancy co-chairs Howard County Bee City in Maryland and helped launch Monarch Rx, based on scientific discoveries made in her own garden. Her books, garden, advocacy, and scientific endeavors have been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Oprah Magazine, Entomology Today, and more.
DOUG LADD
Doug Ladd is the author of Tallgrass Prairie Wildflowers: A Field Guide to Common Wildflowers and Plants of the Prairie Midwest. He worked for the Nature Conservancy for 33 years and is currently a research associate at the Missouri Botanical Garden, and a senior lecturer at Washington University in St. Louis, where he teaches courses in conservation, botany, and ecology.
